Holiday Workshops

Western Enrichment Learning Lab's range of Holiday Workshops for children have been popular since they started in 2014.

Bookings open soon for our January 2025 Holiday Workshops in Bathurst, Dubbo, Orange and Parkes.

ROBOTICS​

Robo Train Junior (45 minutes) $20 NEW

For children aged 4 to 6 (Preschool to Year 1)

Work in a small group using LEGO Coding Express to begin developing an understanding of cause and effect relationships, and early coding concepts. (Parent/Carer must stay on site if child has not yet started school).

Intro to Robotics (2.5 hours) $49

For children in Years 2-5.

Work in pairs using LEGO Spike Essential robotics kits and Chromebook computers to create and code robots in a range of fun scenarios.

For children in Years 5-10.

Work in pairs using LEGO Spike Prime robotics kits and Chromebook computers to create and code robots in a range of fun scenarios.

Robo Battle Junior (2.5 hours) $49 NEW

For children in Years 2-5.

Work in pairs using LEGO Spike Essential robotics kits and Chromebook computers to design, build and code small robotic vehicles that must stay on a timber plank while trying to knock another robotic vehicle off the plank. While no previous experience is necessary, this workshop is a great follow-on to the Intro to Robotics workshop.​​​

For children in Years 5-10.

Work in pairs using LEGO Spike Prime robotics kits and Chromebook computers to design, build, code and race robotic dragster racing cars. The design challenge includes to use of gearing to increase speed and the use of timers to record race results. While no previous experience is necessary, this workshop is a great follow-on to the Robotics 101 workshop.​​​​

Robo Knights Tournament (6 hours) $99 NEW

For children in Years 5-12.

Work in pairs using LEGO Spike Prime robotics kits and Chromebook computers to design, build and code a robotic 'horse' ridden by a medieval knight. The horse and knight will compete in a jousting tournament where each knight tries to dislodge an opposing knight from their horse. While no previous experience is necessary, this workshop is a great follow-on to the Robotics 101 workshop.​​ Children bring their own lunch and have a 30 minute supervised lunch break in the middle of the workshop​​

BUILDING

Licence to Build (45 minutes) $15

For children aged 4 to 6 (Preschool to Year 1)

Complete introductory building challenges with LEGO bricks. Take home a personalised "LEGO Builder Licence". (Parent/Carer must stay on site if child has not yet started school).

Creature Builder (2 hours) $35 single ticket, $50 double ticket NEW

For children in Years 2-5.

Work individually (single ticket) or with a friend (double ticket) to build a range of creatures using LEGO Creator kits. Follow the instructions or use your own imagination. Creatures include dinosaurs, forest creatures, sea creatures and dogs. â€‹

Master Builder (2 hours) $35 single ticket, $50 double ticket NEW

For children in Years 4-8.

Work individually (single ticket) or with a friend (double ticket) to develop your building skills using the rare LEGO Master Builder Academy kits. This range of kits were never released in Australia. Twelve leveled kits help children refine building techniques to use in their own creations. Choose from Space Designer, Microbuild Designer, Robot Designer (not robotics), Flight Designer, Creature Designer, Auto Designer, The Lost Village, The Forbidden Bridge, The Dark Lair, Time Machine, World Architecture or Inventor's Lab.​
